Hello and happy New Year, goodyogis! We are super excited about our new class – goodsleep – Yoga Nidra meditation, with goodteacher Casey. Here is some valuable information about Yoga Nidra.

What is Yoga Nidra meditation?

Yoga Nidra is an increasingly popular mind-body therapy. The practice promotes ultimate relaxation with full conscious awareness. Whoa, what a concept! When we sleep, everything shuts down, including awareness. Yoga Nidra provides the practitioner with the ability to remain aware in body and mind, reaping benefits unachievable during sleep. Hence, insights and healing to the subtle levels of our being are brought forth.

How does it work?

Yoga Nidra is a guided supine meditation practice, helping to quiet the mind-chatter that clouds our everyday consciousness. The practitioner becomes engulfed in a state of transcendental consciousness. Here, the body, senses, and mind have opportunity to restore and awaken to their natural function.

What are the benefits of Yoga Nidra?

Researchers say that yoga nidra offers physical benefits such as reduced stress, better sleep, and relief from chronic pain. It also has the power to aid in many aspects of emotional healing.

Important to note:

The practice of yoga nidra lets us uncover the depths of our inner selves, to challenge the things that creep in and do not serve. Rather than trying to change ourselves, yoga nidra asks us to welcome who we are.

How wholeheartedly beautiful is that?!

We offer this to you with peace, love, and gratitude.
