Beginners to Mysore Ashtanga will work with Amy to learn the basic principles of the practice.

Beginners start with Observation

Beginners to Ashtanga, regardless of general yoga experience, must observe a Mysore Ashtanga class for 30 minutes prior to their first practice. See schedule below for regular class times.

If you have an established Mysore Ashtanga practice, you may skip both Observation and Orientation and attend your first session anytime.

Orientation & Schedule for Greenpoint & Bushwick:

Greenpoint West Annex:
M-F, 6:30am – 8:30am
Following Observation, beginners must attend Orientation:
Thursdays at 7:30am

Greenpoint Studio:
Sun, 8:00am – 9:45am

Bushwick Hart Street Studio:
M-F, 10am – 12pm
Sun, 11:45am – 1:30pm
Following Observation, beginners must attend Orientation:
Thursdays at 11am

Meet Your Teacher
Amy Santos directs our ashtanga program. She is authorized level 2 by Guruji Sri K. Pattabhi Jois to teach the Ashtanga Yoga Method.

Minimum Requirements
To observe the cumulative effects of your Mysore practice:
An initial one month commitment after orientation is required. (No drop-ins are accepted, except for visiting students with an established Mysore practice.)
You should attend at least 3 classes per week. You may arrive anytime during the first hour of class.
